SKF cylindrical roller bearings are available in many designs, series and sizes. The majority are single row bearings with a cage. High-capacity bearings, double row bearings, multi-row bearings, single, double and multi-row full complement bearings (without a cage) and split bearings complete the SKF standard assortment provided here.
Single row cylindrical roller bearings
Single row cylindrical roller bearings are separable i.e. the bearing ring with the roller and cage assembly can be separated from the other ring.

Double row cylindrical roller bearings
Double row cylindrical roller bearings have a low cross section, high load carrying capacity and high stiffness. Therefore they are mainly used in machine tools, rolling mill stands, plastic calenders, grinding mills and also large gearboxes.

Multi-row cylindrical roller bearings
The low bearing cross section allows for relatively large roll neck diameters in comparison with the roll diameter. Since very many rollers can be incorporated, the radial load carrying capacity is exceptionally high.

Single row full complement cylindrical roller bearings
The basic SKF assortment of single row full complement cylindrical roller bearings provided here includes NCF and NJG design bearings. They are used to locate the shaft axially in one direction and eventually to accommodate axial displacement of the shaft relative to the housing in the opposite direction.

Double row full complement cylindrical roller bearings
The basic SKF assortment of double row full complement cylindrical roller bearings provided here includes NNCL , NNCF and NNC open design bearings, as well as sealed NNF design bearings.

Multi-row full complement cylindrical roller bearings
Multi-row full complement cylindrical roller bearings are mainly used in small cold rolling mills where very considerable rolling forces occur but where rolling speed is limited. Other applications for these bearings include straightening machines, shears and extruders.

SKF thrust ball bearings are manufactured as single direction or double direction thrust ball bearings. They are designed to accommodate axial loads only and must not be subjected to any radial load.
Single direction thrust ball bearings
SKF single direction thrust ball bearings consist of a shaft washer, a housing washer and a ball and cage assembly.

Double direction thrust ball bearings
SKF double direction thrust ball bearings consist of one shaft washer, two housing washers and two ball and cage assemblies.

Self-aligning ball bearings have two rows of balls and a common sphered raceway in the outer ring. The bearings are insensitive to angular misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing.

Basic design bearings
Basic design self-aligning ball bearings are available with a cylindrical bore and, for certain sizes, with a 1:12 tapered bore (designation suffix K).
Bearings with an extended inner ring
Self-aligning ball bearings with an extended inner ring are designed for less demanding applications that use commercial grade shafting.
Self-aligning ball bearing kits
To facilitate procurement and to provide the correct bearing/sleeve combination, SKF offers the most popular self-aligning ball bearings together with the suitable adapter sleeve as a kit

Angular contact ball bearings have raceways in the inner and outer rings that are displaced relative to each other in the direction of the bearing axis. This means that they are designed to accommodate combined loads, i.e. simultaneously acting radial and axial loads.
Single row angular contact ball bearings
SKF single row angular contact ball bearings can accommodate axial loads in one direction only. A single row bearing is typically adjusted against a second bearing.

Double row angular contact ball bearings
SKF double row angular contact ball bearings correspond in design to two single row angular contact ball bearings arranged back-to-back, but take up less axial space.

Four-point contact ball bearings
Four-point contact ball bearings are radial single row angular contact ball bearings with raceways that are designed to support axial loads in both directions.

Y-bearings, which are usually referred to as insert bearings, are based on sealed deep groove ball bearings in the 62 and 63 series, but have a convex outer ring and in most cases an extended inner ring with a certain locking device enabling quick and easy mounting onto the shaft.
Product features
- Designed for quick, easy and safe mounting
- Sealed, greased and ready to mount
- Multiple sealing solutions available
- Virtually maintenance-free variants available
- Available in different designs, materials and sizes
- Standard and food grade greases available
- In accordance with ISO
Y-bearings with grub screws
Y-bearings with grub (set) screws in the inner ring are locked onto the shaft by tightening the two cup point hexagonal grub screws, positioned 120° apart. These bearings are suitable for applications for both constant and alternating direction of rotation.

Y-bearings with an eccentric locking collar
Y-bearings with an eccentric locking collar are intended primarily for use in applications where the direction of rotation is constant. On one side, the extended inner ring of the bearing has an eccentric step. The step accommodates the locking collar.

SKF ConCentra Y-bearings
SKF ConCentra Y-bearings have an inner ring symmetrically extended on both sides. The patented SKF ConCentra locking technology is based on the expansion and contraction of two mating surfaces: the bearing bore and the external surface of the stepped sleeve.

Y-bearings with a tapered bore
Y-bearings with a tapered bore have an inner ring symmetrically extended on both sides and a tapered bore (taper 1:12) enabling them to be mounted on a standard H 23 series adapter sleeve. Mounting onto an adapter sleeve enables the bearings to run smoothly and the full limiting speed can be achieved, even when using commercial grade shafts.

Y-bearings with a standard inner ring
Y-bearings with a standard inner ring have normal tolerances for the bearing bore diameter and are locked onto the shaft using an appropriate interference fit.
